Live Watercolor Experiences

Bring an artistic and personal touch to your celebration with a live watercolor experience. Each portrait is painted by hand during your event, capturing your guests, your love story, and the beautiful details of the day in a timeless keepsake.

From individual guest portraits to a larger painting of the couple, each piece is thoughtfully created to become more than a wedding favor. It is a little piece of art your guests can take home and a beautiful memory of your celebration.

Our Process

1) Choose Your Experience

Begin by choosing the watercolor experience that best fits your celebration. Select Live Guest Watercolor Portraits, where guests receive their own hand-painted keepsakes, or a Live Couple Watercolor Portrait, created exclusively for the two of you while your guests watch the painting come to life.

2) Inquire & Reserve Your Date

Share your wedding date, venue, guest count, and a few details about your celebration. Once availability is confirmed, you’ll receive a customized proposal. Your date is officially reserved once your contract is signed and retainer is received.

3) The Live Experience

On the day of your celebration, I’ll arrive with everything needed to bring your chosen watercolor experience to life. Whether painting your guests or creating your couple portrait, the artistic process becomes part of the celebration for everyone to enjoy.

4) The Finishing Touches

Guest portraits are completed during the celebration and can be taken home that day as a personalized keepsake. Live couple watercolor portraits receive additional finishing touches in my studio after the event before being delivered to you. Handwritten calligraphy can also be added to your watercolor portraits for an additional personalized touch.

Everything You Need to Know

Every live watercolor experience is a little different. Whether you’re considering guest portraits or a live couple watercolor, here you’ll find everything you need to know about how each experience works, what to expect on your wedding day, finishing and delivery, personalization options, and answers to frequently asked questions.

    Time & Volume

    • Each portrait takes approximately 5–7 minutes to complete.

    • I can paint around 8–9 guests per hour.

    • For a 7–8 hour event, I can complete roughly 60–70 portraits.

    Photo Reference

    • I’ll take a quick photo of each guest as they arrive or when they’re ready to be painted.

    This allows me to work continuously without needing them to sit still.

    • Guests are welcome to watch their portrait being painted if they'd like!

    Style

    • Portraits are painted in a modern, minimalist style with loose brushwork and charming

    character.

    • Facial features are not included, but I’ll capture hairstyles, attire, and overall likeness.

    • Calligraphy can be added with the guest’s name or event details for a personal touch.

    Customization Options

    • Choose to prioritize specific guests (e.g., family, bridal party) or allow a first-come, first-

    served approach.

    • A sign-up system or custom invitation cards can be provided to help manage the flow.

    Pricing

    • Pricing is based on hourly coverage or a flat event rate (details outlined in quote).

    • Additional portraits (beyond what can be completed live) can be commissioned post-event at the standard rate.

    Setup and Requirements

    • A 4–6-foot table and chair in a well-lit, shaded or covered area.

    • Access to electrical outlets or extension cords for lighting or drying tools.

    • All materials are included, including high-end 140 lb. 100% cotton paper and protective plastic sleeves for each piece.

    • I can provide elegant signage to let guests know about the live portrait experience.

    • For events over 4 hours, a vendor meal and one 30-minute break are appreciated.

    Final Artwork

    • Guests may take their portraits home immediately after they're finished.

    • If preferred, I can safely collect and package them for distribution at the end of the event.

  • This watercolor experience package outlines everything you need to know about what to expect from your Live Hyper-Realistic Watercolor Couple Portrait experience.

    Time & Focus

    • This painting requires 4–5 layers of watercolor pigment, applied gradually throughout the event.

    • I will be focused exclusively on the couple’s portrait during the day, and cannot take on additional guests.

    • My goal is to complete 3–4 pigment layers by the end of the night, allowing you to see a near-complete piece before final touch-ups.

    Final Touches and Delivery

    • The final layer (enhancing highlights, shadows, and retouches) will be completed after the event, within 2 weeks.

    • The finished piece will be delivered or shipped to you once fully dry and sealed.

    Photo Reference

    • I will work from a reference photo (high resolution) of the couple taken by your photographer during the event.

    • Prior to the event, I’ll need a photo of the couple ahead of time to create a color palette and study facial features, skin and hair undertones.

    Note* Other custom watercolor piece can be order prior to the event. Such as, a pre-selected image or even an engagement photo, which some couples use as a welcome sign or display.

    Style and Materials

    • This portrait is hyper-realistic, with attention to facial features, attire, and fine details.

    • You can choose between:

      • A zoomed-in composition that highlights faces and clothing

      • Or a zoomed-out scene with a scenic background and setting

    • All paintings are done on 11" x 14" 100% cotton, cold-press, 140 lb French watercolor paper.

    Calligraphy Add-on

    • I’m happy to include custom calligraphy on the artwork — such as your names, wedding date, place or a short phrase — at no additional cost.

    Pricing

    • The live hyper-realistic watercolor portrait is $1500.

    • Includes:

      • Full-day painting on-site

      • Post-event final touches

      • Optional calligraphy

    Setup Needs

    • A quiet, well-lit, shaded and covered area space at the venue with a table and chair.

    •  Access to electrical outlets or extension cords for lighting or drying tools.

    • Minimal interruptions are appreciated to ensure the best quality and depth in the artwork.

    • I can provide elegant signage to let guests know about the live portrait experience.

    • For events over 4 hours, a vendor meal and one 30-minute break are appreciated.

    Final Artwork

    • Final touches will be completed at the studio.

    • The finished piece will be mailed to couple or delivered in person if they are located in the same city.
