Meet your calligrapher

Aloha! Welcome to Paradise Ink Calligraphy. My name is Briana Horn, and I reside in gorgeous Kaua’i, Hawai’i. I am a scientist and a bioethicist by profession but have always been interested in history and forms of traditional art, such as calligraphy. At the age of 12, I started learning calligraphy using a chiseled pen to do Chancery Italic style calligraphy. My calligraphy interests eventually moved towards brush pens and oblique fountain pens. I love incorporating traditional and modern calligraphy scribes to create unique styles. Needless to say, calligraphy has always been a passion of mine. While life can be busy, with an oblique pen or brush pen in my hand my life becomes slower and calmer.

Besides my professional and calligraphy endeavors, I am wife to a physician and mother of 7-year-old identical twin sons. I love to read, dance (currently hula dancing), refurbish antique furniture, learn history, travel, do photography and watch sunsets.
